Dr. Hans-Karsten Werner,born in 1935, is qualified as a German Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney and is admitted to the European Community Trademark Office in Alicante (OHIM).
He studied chemistry at the Universities of Würzburg, Saarbrücken and Heidelberg and received his master's degree in 1961. His doctoral studies under Professor Karl Freudenberg in the field of lignine chemistry were completed in 1963. From 1964 to 1978 he worked in the patent department of Boehringer Mannheim GmbH becoming its director in 1971. He became a partner of the firm in 1978. He is a member of the Chamber of German Patent Attorneys (Patentanwaltskammer), the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi), the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property Right and Copyright (GRUR), the International Association for the Protection of Industrial Property (AIPPI), the International Federation of Industrial Property Attorneys (FICPI), and the Federal Association of German Patent Attorneys (Bundesverband Deutscher Patentanwälte e.V.). He is a member of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) and was chairman of the sub-group Industrial Property from 1997 to 2001. His special interests are all fields of chemistry especially organic chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry and applied chemistry. |
